It has been cloudy, gray and dull.  I have almost forgotten how sunshine feels like. Yesterday we got some snow and it was gorgeous as it was falling, before it turned to a mix of rain and snow. Now that's when it becomes nasty with black ice and slippery sidewalks.

Crazy as I am, I decided to shoot in the snow outside. Wet mushy snow and not to mention the icy winds. Setting up and then carrying the tea in a thermos…am sure my neighbors have signed me off as a mad crazy woman. So the funny part is my shoes got wet and since I did not want to bring the wet shoes inside, smart me left my wet shoes outside. ummm ! After I transferred all the images and wanted to bring the chair inside, I put my feet in frozen shoes…let me say this, the warm tea really helped.

For Thanksgiving one of my very good friend, Dolphia sent me some of her favorite tea infused with spices, I love the tea, warm aromatic, perfect for the season. I infused it with cranberries and the outcome is fabulous. Thanks Dolphia, this one for you. I wish I could share it in person.

Recipe

 Makes 4 cups

1/4 cup of fresh cranberries
5 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water
small piece of cinnamon
1-2 cloves
few black pepper corns
1 green cardamom
slice of lime

1 1/2 tsp Darjeeling tea or tea of your choice with mild flavor
1/2 inch ginger

4 1/2 cups water

In one cup water, boil and cook the cranberries with the spices, sugar and lime. If your tea leaves has spices in it, omit using the spices here. After it is nice mushy and cooked - sieve, so you separate the pulp. Keep aside.

Bring 4 1/2 cups of water to boil, turn of the heat, add the tea and ginger, let it brew for 2 minutes. Not more. Strain the tea and mix with cranberry pulp. Check for sweetness and serve hot or chilled!
