We are in the second week of the brand new year already? Where did the time go? I was out on a four week vacation to India, had such a wonderful time with family and friends, truly spoilt !! Street food, chaat, snacks, dosas, idlis, samosa, breads, pastries, exotic desserts, endless cups of chai, coffee and my all time favorite tender coconut on the streets.. pure bliss!! And not to forget some serious shopping ;-)
Now that I am back, settled in am all excited about the new year and my goals for the year, have tons of ideas and recipes, can't wait to get cookin'. I am so looking forward to blog- hopping to see whats cooking in my friend's kitchen. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. A Happy New Year to all of you. Missed you guys :) :)

Mix the water, red wine, sugar and berries and bring to a boil. Add the pealed pears and simmer for 20-25 mins till the pear is tender. (poked through with a fork). Remove Pears and refrigerate.
Boil the wine sauce until the liquid has been reduced by half. Pour sauce over pears and serve with either mascarpone, crème fraiche or vanilla ice cream .
