Fall colors - A walk in the wilderness

If I could express in words...I could probably write a few pages. Mist, rain drops, sunshine....imagine surrounded by the glow of gold, and bright yellow amber trees...! I must have spent a good two hours in the tiny forest patch that is on my walking trail...

I stood there and took a deep breath, as the wind caressed my hair and leaves made a rustling noise...I was tempted to close my eyes to soak in the moment. The golden hue of the sun, the gleaming amber trees...I just could not get to close my eyes even for a second, mesmerized by the light and the beauty that embraced me.

All I could think of was words from Anthem - Ayn Rand

"I am. I think. I will.
My hands . . . My spirit . . . My sky . . . My forest . . . This earth of mine . . . .
What must I say besides? These are the words. This is the answer.
I stand here on the summit of the mountain. I lift my head and I spread my arms. This, my body and spirit, this is the end of the quest. I wished to know the meaning of things. I am the meaning. I wished to find a warrant for being. I need no warrant for being, and no word of sanction upon my being. I am the warrant and the sanction....
I know not if this earth on which I stand is the core of the universe or if it is but a speck of dust lost in eternity. I know not and I care not. For I know what happiness is possible to me on earth. And my happiness needs no higher aim to vindicate it. My happiness is not the means to any end. It is the end. It is its own goal. It is its own purpose."

  2. Beautiful pictures. I have never experienced this in person and as a child always wondered whats so great and fascinating about fall colours . I realised much later when I grew up and your pictures are just a conformation to that
