M&M oatmeal cookies

My youngest has been taking cooking lessons in school and since it is spring break......she decided to bake some cookies for us. This is the first recipe that she has made from scratch without help.  It's a no fuss quick recipe and some awesome cookies. The only thing she needed help was to put the cookies in the oven.  Am really looking fwd to some fun in the kitchen this week.

Some cookies, a glass of milk and a book......................!! A well deserved spring break :)

1/2 cup + 2 tbsp - all purpose flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tbsp salt
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 and 1/4 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp m&m

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, using  an electric  mixer set on medium-high speed. Add the egg and mix until combined, stir in the vanilla extract.

Stir together the dry ingredients ( flour, baking powder and salt) in a separate bowl.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamy mixture until combined. Stir in rolled oats. Add the m&m. Mix well.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. For conversion to C see the conversion chart on the right side of the blog. Lightly grease the baking sheet. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls or use a cookie scoop.

Bake for 10-13 min.  Cookies are done when they are lightly brown around the edges.  Remove from oven, let it cool for 10-15 min. Enjoy !!
