Gram flour crisps (om pudi)

That was yesterday- We had heavy rains last night resulting in a beautiful calm, pleasant morning. Went on a long walk and it was absolutely glorious......!! Chirping birds, lush green leaves freshly washed from the rains.....dew on the flowers...busy squirrels on the walk way! I am looking forward to cooler mornings and calms walks in the days to come.  It's amazing how a fresh morning can give you so much happiness and energy throughout the day !! Spoke to an old friend - she traced me through my blog, can you imagine that!! Not only am I making new friends but rediscovering old friends! It can't get better than this...no wonder I am all smiles today :)))))))

“I've got nothing to do today but smile.”  ― Simon and Garfunkel

Since my laptop has been acting up and am living off a borrowed laptop from almost teen, I could not finish working on the post. So here it is today...

1 cup Gram flour (besan)
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
5-6 dried red chillies
 1/4 tsp asafetida powder
2 tbsp powdered dessicated coconut
salt to taste
water to mix
oil to deep fry

Dry roast the red chili, carom seeds and slightly warm the dessicated coconut. Add asafetida and grind into coarse powder.

Add water and salt and mix into a slightly soft dough.

Fill the dough into the press with a round tip. Pipe the shape to the hot oil, till it fills the surface of oil. Fry till golden brown and crisp.

My yard is full of blooms , couldn't help but share  :))) Enjoy, smile and be happy !!
