Update and some eye candy !

I have been wanting to share/post for a couple of days now but have been a bit busy with a little this and a little that. Before I knew it, it was 11 pm. And you don't want me doing a post at 11 after a long day.... I am worse than an intoxicated zombie. I enrolled the food photography challenge hosted by Neel from 'Learn Food Photography' and am absolutely enjoying it. It's so much fun to learn in a group and share each other's progress. Am so glad I joined google plus... (that is where the challenge is hosted). I wonder what took me so long to be part of all the fun on google plus. Believe it or not I just joined  last month. There is a wealth of information there.

Then I went through the whole debate and research on moving my blog to Wordpress, highly recommended by a lot of you but am not willing to give up on my google friend connect followers :(
Sadly they don't let you export that now. So that sent me into a black hole for a few days. Any ideas, recommendations or help is always welcome.

Finally I got a reply button in my comments section, my template is so old that it's almost from the stone age so... had to do an html thing... thankfully my tech savy nephew was there to help me thru it do it for me.

And last but not least, I did a photograph session with one of my artist friend, she wanted all of her sketches/painting photographed for her upcoming exhibition.

Today, I really was not in the mood to share a recipe. I really wanted to share with you guys my learning from the photography challenge and also some other photographs. We have been talking about dof, framing, moods, camera angle.... So, here are a few. Some will be elaborated in future posts with recipes and some just random shots. Let me know what you think. Hope you are having a fab weekend!

Farmers Market

Our trip to the farmers market this morning was  a treat to the eyes, there was a lot of fresh produce and plants apart from the variety of preserves, jams and honey.

   What a blessed day!!!!

Place: North India, closer to The Himalayas,

Time: A cold winter afternoon with the sun trying its best to spread some of its warmth to us .

As we walked down the dusty road over to some very old family friends, who had invited us for a tour of her vast, well loved garden and of course some tea to warm us up, we just wanted to soak in all the charm of a small hillside town, which had grown beyond its limits and was coping hard from bursting at its seams.
Despite all the dodging of the autorickshaws and scooters and dogs,  we arrived in perfect shape and in good time. The minute we stood at the gate, we knew we were in for a visual treat, this was not a garden, this was an exclamation!

As we walked around, the first thing that caught our eye was this huge Rudraksha tree majestically standing and definitely making its presence felt. We were told its history and how little birds would take these beads and drop them in neighbours homes( lucky lucky! ). Not wanting to wait for the birds to come across seven seas to drop them in our yards, we decided to collect some from under the tree.

As we bade goodbye to the garden and held  the precious  beads tight in our fists, we felt happy and blessed!
We will be back for more ....we said!!!

Earth Day....

               Date - 22 April 2010
               Day - Thursday
               Event - Earth Day....

But .. 'Really'.. Do we need a predetermined date set in stone by someone who felt the need to save the planet, Do we need the policing, the constant reminders, a date on our calenders, do we need to be told not to waste water or energy???  Should it not have been a habit to be aware of our environment?

Most times when we go out for a walk or a bike ride we click lots of pictures, today, we decided to post some of them for you all. All this green and wildlife, hopefully, will make us promise ourselves that we should leave most of it untouched for our future generations to enjoy.

A bike ride ................

soaked the green  around us...some clicks ...........

We planted some rose bushes and  annuals...and you ....???:)
